July 2010
The Architectural Committee is pleased to report that at the July 21, 2010 meeting it received two (2) plans for additions/remodels.
One proposal was for a second story remodel and the second plan proposed to convert an atrium to living space.
Another homeowner submitted plans to install a new roof with an array of integrated energy efficient solar panels which was approved by the Committee.
A sub-association submitted their final plans for the remodeling of their carports, which was approved by the Committee.
The Committee received a Home Improvement Application for new roofing material which was also approved.

A letter and a signed petition was submitted from some Homeowners in the Briarglen tract requesting that a second paint color option (Dunn-Edwards DEW 340 Whisper White) be added for street-facing wood fencing. Currently, the street-facing wood fencing in this tract is limited to Old Quaker #55 only.
The Committee authorized staff to publish this proposed amendment to Chapter 3 (Architectural Guidelines and Standards), Section 3-222 (h) (1) of the Rules, Regulation and Operating Policies.

June 2010
Staff presented the current freestanding canopy rules, as adopted in 2008, and reported that since that time, a number of canopies have been approved. Recently however, homeowners and Association staff have not been able to find canopies available on the market that comply with the appearance standards and are not taller than the current height limitation of eight (8’) feet six (6”) inches. The only canopies available at that height are the canopies that have the appearance of a temporary nature that do not comply with the appearance standards. The Committee recommended that the Board amend the Rules to permit canopies up to ten (10’) feet in height. This recommendation will be presented to the Board at the July 7th meeting for review.
The last agenda item to be reviewed was a homeowner’s proposal for a new black wrought iron railing, which was approved by the Architectural Committee.

April 2010
The Architectural Committee is pleased to report that it received one (1) set of plans for a second story addition and one (1) set of plans for an attached roofed porch which will be located in the rear yard. Both Preliminary Home Improvements submitted were approved.
Another homeowner submitted their plans to install an array of energy efficient solar panels on the roof of their home which is being remodeled at this time. Approval was granted, pending the homeowner obtaining property rights signed off from their sub-association before final approval can be given by the Woodbridge Village Association Architectural Committee.
Finally, the Committee voted to recommend to the Board of Directors the reappointment of Richard P. McDonough and Matt Naraghi for another two year term on the Architectural Committee. Mr. McDonough has served on the Committee since April 2002 and Mr. Naraghi since May 2002. The Association wishes to thank Richard and Matt for their years of service and dedication to the community!

January 2010
The Architectural Committee is pleased to report that it received three (3) sets of plans for additions/remodels for review at the January meeting.
Two (2) homeowners submitted preliminary plans for remodels, both of which were approved with changes.
Another homeowner submitted their plans to add 75 square feet of living space to their kitchen, install new stucco fencing, vinyl windows and new entry doors. Approval was granted with the understanding that the new fencing would be consistent with the height of the existing fencing.
Village Glen Maintenance Association submitted a revised proposal to modify their carport structures. The Committee requested some minor revisions, which will be submitted by Village Glen at a later date.
Representatives from William Lyon Homes presented proposed elevations and a site plan for the proposed 48 single family homes at the former Alderwood School site. The Committee made several suggestions and requested multiple changes on the elevations. The Committee agreed to meet with William Lyon Homes again in the near future to review these revisions.
Finally, the Committee voted to recommend to the Board of Directors the reappointment of Henry Myers for another two year term on the Architectural Committee. Mr. Myers has served on the Committee since January of 1987! The Association wishes to thank Henry for his many years of service and dedication!
