May 2010
Quadrant Inspections have been completed by the Committee.
The following item was discussed and unanimously approved by the Facilities Committee: WVA Community Center Lobby Air Conditioning Replacement
The Facilities Committee unanimously elected Kay Phillies as Chairman and Mark O’Connell as Vice-Chairman for another year term.
Tim Lett noted the following items have been completed or are in progress:
Stonecreek Park picnic tables have been Anchored/Paseo has ample lighting
South Lake Tennis Courts – Resurfacing is underway
North and South Lake Lagoons – Opening preparations are underway
Seasonal pools were opened April 16th. Will be heated on May 26th.
Uneven concrete has been ground to eliminate trip hazards throughout the village.

April 2010
During the April 21st meeting:
     Steven Babyak cited issues with a bench in the park behind Stonecreek Tennis Courts. Young adults and/or juveniles hanging out. He also recommended adding a bollard for additional lighting in that area.
     The following items were discussed and unanimously approved by the Facilities Committee:
• Golf Cart replacement.
• Purchase of three replacement trucks.

Committee members selected the following Quadrants for inspection:

Quadrant 3 Rand Singer & John Burke
Quadrant 4 Mark O’Connell & Louis Lopeman

Tim Lett noted the following items have been completed:
• Meadow Park Patio was completed.
• Timber Run Half Basketball Court and both Hand Ball Courts were resurfaced.
• Springbrook and Cobblestone Basketball Courts were resurfaced.
• New Memorial bench installed at end of Woodspring Paseo at the North Lake.

March 2010
During the March 17th meeting:

     Guests, including members of the WVA Board of Directors, the Finance Committee and the Irvine Police Department were welcomed.
     Guest speakers, Commander Bob Richardson, and Detective Dave Tran of the Irvine Police Department were introduced. Detective Tran gave an informative talk on graffiti in Irvine and he and Commander Richardson answered questions from the Facilities Committee and those in attendance
     The following items were discussed and unanimously approved by the Facilities Committee:

Irrigation Controller Pedestals Replacemen
Wooden Fence along 405 Freeway Replacement

Tim Lett noted the following items have been completed or are in progress:
Fiberglassing completed at Blue Lake Swim Club Pool, Spa & Wader, Shorebird Spa, Springvale Spa, Stonecreek Spa, Wintermist Spa and Woodspring Spa.
Lemongrass Siding and Trim Replacement Project has been completed.
Two ceiling fans have been installed in the Administration Building Lounge to circulate the air vs. using the air conditioning.
Several paseo sections have been replaced throughout the village to eliminate tripping hazards and liability issues.
Executive Director Kevin Chudy spoke to the Committee about the Community Forum for Proposed Fallbrook Park Improvements scheduled for April 28th at the WVA Community Center. The Board of Directors would like input and opinions from our residents, and from the Facilities Committee.

February 2010
During the February 17th meeting, the following items were discussed and unanimously approved by the Facilities Committee.

ECOmatic Salt Chlorination system: Woodspring pool and spa, Smokestone pool and two spas, Wintermist pool, spa and wader.
Community Center Repeater
South Lake Bridge Lighting
Stonecreek Swim Club Diving Board
14” Band Saw
Breaker Hammer
Paint Sprayer
Pressure Washer

     Kurt Klug suggested the Committee tour the WVA Maintenance Department on-site workshops during a future meeting. Date to be advised.
     Tim Lett noted the following items have been completed or are in progress:
     The Blue Lake Swim Club re-fiberglassing completion delayed on account of inclement weather.
     The siding replacement at Lemongrass is continuing between rain storms. It will be painted, weather permitting, the week of February 21.
     Stonecreek Swim Club heater was replaced with two heaters due to an emergency and directly approved by the Board of Directors.


January 2010
During the January 20th meeting:

The Facilities Committee discussed the graffiti at Blue Lake. It has been power washed and painted
Kay Phillies suggested that we invite a representative from the Irvine Police Department to attend a Facilities Committee meeting and give us an informative talk about vandalism and graffiti problems in Irvine and Woodbridge. Kevin Chudy will contact Commander Bob Richardson of the Irvine Police Department to set up a date.
Tim Lett advised that the Lemongrass Pool deck will have an acid wash before opening again.
The Facilities Committee discussed and unanimously approved the following Recommendations:
The replacement of patio covers at Crestbrook, Meadow and Smokestone.
Resurface ten tennis courts at South Lake Tennis Club, three basketball courts at Springbrook, Cobblestone and Timber Run and one handball court at Timber Run.
Tim Lett noted the following items have been completed or are in progress:
Pool Heaters: most heaters have been replaced.
The Creekside patio cover has been completed.
Blue Lake Swim Club re-fiberglassing is underway.
A new Memorial Bench has been put in place at North Lake Island along with concrete steps for easier access
The siding and trim replacement at Lemongrass is underway.
