Minutes of the October 15th. Facilities Committee meeting were modified to add that a Committee member requested that Gatorade or water should be made available in the vending machines at the North Lake Tennis Club.
Don Davis reported regarding a new rule passed to allow homeowners gate access into common areas.
Don Davis and the Committee discussed the need for a landscaping professional to assist the WVA in upgrading and renovating landscaping as the Facilities Committee does not have enough expertise in this area. The Facilities Committee voted unanimously as follows: The Facilities Committee moves that the Board of Directors hire a professional Landscape Architect to master plan the WVA common area and limit the Facilities Committee involvement to reviewing their suggestions.
The Facilities Committee unanimously voted to approve the purchase of a high-pressure water-cutting machine for drain cleaning.
The WVA Quadrant inspection reports were reviewed. Tim Lett advised the Facilities Committee of the status of the following:

October, 2008
The Facilities Committee met on October 15th:

No new web-base resident survey responses to report. The committee suggests that our link be moved to a more prominent place on the WVA home page. |

Committee noted there was debris from winds, but prior tree trimming helped to keep it at a minimum. |

A request was made for adding a light at North Lake volleyball court. The Committee made a motion to study the North Lake volleyball court lighting. |

The water toy in the wader pool at Blue Lake Swim Club is still experiencing some problems. |

Dick Fenner of the WVA Board of Directors attended our meeting and discussed Woodbridge landscaping with the Facilities Committee. |

Frank Vodhanel advised that the Web-Resident Survey is still receiving positive responses.
Don Davis advised the Facilities Committee:

The WVA Board is meeting with the Garden Club Board on certain issues. |

Access gates to the WVA parks are under discussion. |

August, 2008
At the August 20th. meeting the Committee discussed the Web-Base Resident Survey updates. Resident input included very positive comments regarding Beach Clubs/Lagoons, play equipment, patio covers, picnic tables, spas, swimming pools/wader restrooms and WVA Facilities in general.

Fire pits at the North Lake Beach Club continue to be reviewed by the Board due to nearby resident complaints of smoke. These residents are again requesting fire pits be changed to gas. |

North Lake stage location will be discussed by the Board at the end of the year. |

The Facilities Committee discussed and unanimously recommends the replacement of three golf carts with three Club Car Golf Carts. The Facilities Committee discussed and unanimously recommends the replacement of the oldest truck in the fleet to a new truck from Tustin Toyota. |

Facilities Committee discussed giving WVA residents the opportunity to donate concrete Memorial picnic tables and chairs at our parks. |

July, 2008
At the July 16th meeting the Committee discussed the Web-Base resident survey updates. This included residents questions and comments regarding adult swim, trespassers at Woodspring spa and swimming pools, condition of diving boards and replacement of trees in open areas.
Bob Figeira advised the Committee that cloth awnings for residents are been reviewed by the Board. Also, North Lake event stage options, concerns and possible new location discussed. The Board reviewed some problems the Garden Club is experiencing.

Also, the Committee discussed new siding replacement on the Fallbrook and Firwood facilities. A recommendation for new siding was unanimously passed by the Committee. |

Skateboarding, bicycle skids and dogs running on the Timber Run Tennis Courts discussed. Facilities Committee recommends signs stating “Tennis Courts Only. No Dogs, Skateboards or bicycles”. |

Gates at the South Lake Tennis Courts are locking before the lights go out. 600ft of fence to be replaced along the 405 Fwy. |
| • |
Tim Lett advised that the Blue Lake Swim Club water toys have been delivered and installed. |

The North Lake Tennis Courts Patio Cover is being reconstructed. |

The South Lake Beach Club entry gate lights were installed. |

The Irvine Ranch Water District is testing the water at both North and South Lake lagoons. They have discovered a problem with dust. |

June, 2008
At the June 18 meeting the Committee discussed the Web-Based Resident Survey Updates.

Ed DeFerrante has been appointed to the Facilities Committee by the Board of Directors. The Committee welcomes Ed.
Also, discussed roofs to be replaced at Shorebird, Fallbrook, Firwood and Timber Run. The Facilities Committee unanimously approved replacement of roofs at those 4 facilities.
Staff to research other venues for summer stage events and stage options at North Lake per Board of Directors summary.

May, 2008
• The Facilities Committee wishes to thank Joe Pagan, Maintenance Manager for his 28 years of service with WVA. Our members wish to express our appreciation for a long and productive association with him. We wish Joe all the best in his retirement.
Also, the Committee welcomes Tim Lett, the new WVA Maintenance Manager, and looks forward to working with him. We also welcome back Bob Woodings to our Committee.
The Facilities Committee wishes to thank Don Perdue for his years of outstanding contributions and service to both our committee and WVA.
• The Facilities Committee unanimously re-elected Frank Vodhanel Chairman, and Kay Phillies Vice-Chairman.
• Frank Vodhanel discussed some preliminary results of the new WVA Website Resident Survey. Some of the areas of inquiry:
° Number of barbeques
° Condition of lagoons -How to keep ducks out
° Arrowhead Park basketball courts - problem with people urinating in the bushes. Committee recommends that WVA install signs directing people to the nearest WVA bathroom. We also recommend that the Board of Directors direct staff to investigate.
° Committee requests that the Recreation Committee review the website residents response regarding pool hours and also review residents comments pertaining to recreation.
• The Facilities Committee unanimously voted to recommend to the Board of Directors to commence conversion of Stonecreek pool to the saline chlorination system.
• Proposed Landscape Committee – The Facilities Committee discussed our committee assuming this responsibility to assist staff on specific issues as needed and to provide recommendations to the Board.
• Bob Figeira addressed the Committee regarding the new water play feature to be installed at Blue Lake Swim Club in the wading pool. There is an agreement with the manufacturer to allow WVA to have a trial through the summer The WVA will pay for installation and delivery for the trial period.
• New volleyball Court lights have been installed and appear to be working satisfactorily.
April, 2008
The Facilities Resident Forum Web Site continues to be successful. Woodbridge residents are submitting comments. All comments so far are positive. The Facilities Committee discussed the following Items:
• South Lake – Lagoon was repainted
• South Lake - Multi-Purpose room will be remodeled.
• North Lake Lagoon - 2 of the existing fire pits were removed and 1 fire pit was relocated near the edge of the lake for a total of 3 fire pits.
• North Lake Event Stage – Discussion is tabled for the May meeting
Facilities Committee passed a motion recommending that an informative article be written and placed in Reflections regarding the Salt-Water Chlorination System at the Stone Creek Swim Club.
The Board approved the appointment of Steven Babyak to the Facilities Committee.
Bob Dunham submitted his resignation. The Facilities Committee wishes to thank Bob for his many years of dedication and service to the Committee.
Joe Pagan informed the Committee that Blue Lake Swim Club Pool is losing water. A Consultant will investigate the source of the problem. Also, various parking lots have been re-surfaced and 10 Tennis Courts were re-surfaced at North Lake and 2 at Timber Run Park.
March, 2008
At the March meeting, Frank Vodhanel advised the Committee that our web site Facilities Resident Forum has been up for one week and has received three responses. Facilities Committee discussed the responses.
The facilities Committee passed a motion recommending removing the existing four fire pits and relocate three fire pits along the lagoon edge near the lake. They also recommended that the fire pits be capped during off-season and that warning and advisory signs be posted. The motion passed 4-0.
Joe Pagan advised that many projects are in progress throughout the parks and tennis courts in the Association. Also, the North Lake trail will be closed two weeks for asphalt removal and slurry sealing, all urinals will go to waterless with the Board of Directors approval, and a card reader will be installed in the shower at Briarglen facility.
February, 2008
At the February meeting the Committee discussed the Web-based Facilities Feedback Site. The discussion covered next phase to connect to Woodbridge Website. Also, Committee recommended not taking action regarding lights at North Lake and South Lake trails.
Staff informed Committee that spraying trees for cormorants proved unsuccessful and no additional solutions are known.
Furthermore, Steve Babyak a potential new member attended Committee meeting.January, 2008
At the January Facilities Committee Meeting the Committee discussed:
• Web-based Facilities Feedback Site – the Board of Directors approved to allocate $200.00 to fund the site for the first year.
• Tennis Reservation On-Line System – Close to completion. Currently accepting forms/applications to sign in on-line.
• Patio Covers/Structures – New replacements will be made of wood, as alternatives appear to be cost prohibitive.
• North Lake and South Lake Trails Lighting – Under Review. Possible lighting expert to review. City to be contacted regarding City code lighting requirements/code. Recommendation to staff for review and action as necessary.
