related to WVA events and use of facilities.
An update was given regarding the proposed smoking ban in all facilities.
As of this meeting, the Board of Directors had approved a smoking
ban for all facilities. A decision will be made on the verbiage
to present to the residents. Residents will be given a 2-month notice
of the proposed rule at which time they may contact the Association
to voice their opinions.
Woodbridge
swim teams, Wave Riders and Tiger Sharks, were present to try to
work out a schedule that would allow both teams to practice at the

working with the teams to try to find hours that would be fair and
agreeable to both teams.

September
2004 Committee Meeting
The
Recreation Committee met on September 15, 2004 to discuss matters
associated with events and recreation facilities within Woodbridge.
Residents from
Briarglen were in attendance to discuss pros and cons regarding
changing the hours at this 24-hour facility. An Incident Summary
Report for July 1, 2004 to August 31, 2004 was submitted by the
Staff for consideration. The facility noise and major incidents
were listed on this report, showing times and dates: Total incidents
were 27, and total resident complaints were 26.

was made to implement the test program. The motion was seconded
and passed.
August
2004 Committee Meeting
The
Recreation Committee met in August to discuss matters associated
with events and recreation facilities within Woodbridge.
The Committee addressed concerns voiced by residents regarding the
24-hour status of Briarglen Pool. After a lengthy dialogue with
residents who use the pool (plus email letters0, the committee decided
to continue the present pool hours for another month. The facility
will be closely monitored for late night noise. The committee is
reluctant to recommend changing the original 24-hours use of this
facility unless it is imperative. Further discussion of this matter
will be held at the September meeting when more committee members
will be present.
The Committee
also deferred any action on considering a possible smoking ban at
WVA facilities until the September meeting since only four Committee
members were present.
WVA staff informed
the Committee that the 4 EZ-Up canopies would need to be replaced
and should be considered for the 2005 budget.
