July 2006
At the July 19th Recreation Committee meeting the Committee discussed the following issues:
• Staff stated that the 4th of July was a big hit. The parade had the most participants to date, the Beach Club was crowded, and everyone had a great time. Staff also has heard nice comments concerning the firework show.
• Splash Nights have started again and for the first time we have had 108, 115, and 148 kids attend. Three more are planned for the rest of summer.
• Three concerts have taken place and are being well received by the residents.
• Staff will tour other communities who have water parks, and report back to the committee about putting a water park in one of the lagoons.

May 2006
The Recreation Committee was given an update on the 2006 Spring Street Faire. Staff reported that it was a very successful day. The Live Remote from KZLA was a big success, along with the Jet Ski Demonstration, Art Show, Swap Meet and Home Show. Staff presented some of the programs that will be presented this summer, such as the popular Concerts on the Lake starting June 24th and Wine Tasting at Bacchus’ Secret Cellar in Quail Hill Plaza on July 25th, which will include wine and hors d’oeuvers.
All pools are now heated and are open for the summer.

April 2006 Committee Meeting
At last month’s meeting, it was discussed by the Committee to not formally make a rule of prohibiting the batting of balls in our parks. The Committee recommended running articles in the monthly newsletter asking residents to always make sure the park is large enough, and to use common sense when batting hardballs or softballs.
Staff updated the Committee on the upcoming Street Faire and told them it was going to be our best Street Faire to date.
