MEETINGS/RECREATION COMMITTEE - 2007
     

November 2007
At this months meeting the Committee discussed options on the Sprinkler Park from the Water Park Convention staff attended in October.
   Staff updated the Committee on the activities that are taking place over the holidays.
   The Committee Holiday Party, thanking all holiday committee members for all their hard work will be on Thursday, December 13th.

September 2007
Due to the lack of quorum, the Recreation Committee did not meet in September.

August 2007
Due to the lack of quorum, the Recreation Committee did not meet in August.

June 2007
At the June Committee meeting, a resident presented a petition to the Committee in order to relocate the Wildwood play equipment from the existing area to the volleyball court. Staff stated that this equipment is scheduled to be replaced in 2009 or 2010.
     The new exercise equipment at Springacre Park was approved and ordered with a mid-August installation.
     The Online Tennis Reservation System is still moving forward. Staff stated it has taken a little longer than expected to integrate the WVA information with the online system.
     Staff told the Committee that we are ready to go for the 4th of July and that it should be one of the best ever.
     Concerts on the Lake are continuing throughout the summer.

May 2007

February 2007
At the February Recreation Committee meeting the Committee discussed the following issues:
   Resident addressed the Committee concerning the playground equipment at Wildwood Park. He wanted to know when it was due to be replaced. Staff reviewed the Association’s reserve policy and Wildwood Park is due to be replaced in 2009.
   The Committee asked Staff to put an article in Reflections requesting input on replacing the Springacre Park Par course.
Final preparation is underway for the Street Faire on April 28th. The Faire will have 60 home improvement booths, swap meet, art show booths, rides, entertainment, and much more.
   The Summer Brochure listing all the Association classes and events for the summer is going to print and will hit the homes in April.

 

 

January 2007
At the January Recreation Committee meeting the Committee discussed the following issues:
   Staff recapped the Holiday activities that took place in December. The Rose Parade was once again a big hit with the residents and was attended by 90 people.
   The Board of Directors is still looking into different types of surveys to distribute to the residents for input. Director Driscoll suggested checking into several online companies that put on free surveys.
   Staff informed the Committee that on February 23rd Comedy Night will return.
   The staff is currently preparing for its annual Street Faire. The Faire will take place on Saturday, April 28th, with over 100 vendors.
Annual meeting will be held on April 4th with Assemblyman Chuck Devore as the main speaker.
   Staff expressed to the committee that there has been some suggestion from resident that live by the North Lake Beach Club to have some of the fire pits removed due to smoke that flows into their house. Chairman Tom Duffy asks that the Recreation Committee also be asked to join in the discussion on this matter.
   The Committee asked Staff to put an article in the Reflections asking for input on the existing par course. Presently it is being removed and the Committee would like to know if a replacement of an updated par course is what they would like to see or have it removed completely.
