are sold at the Association Office before the 4th of July. The 4th
is on a Monday this year and all activities will take place on that
day.
An Invitation...
Please join your friends and neighbors for a day filled with activities,
laughter, and excitement.
Please remember
to purchase your wristbands and to wear them to the South Lake Beach
Club on the 4th. Wristbands are required for all of the following
events except for the 5K/10K and Kids Run, Wheels on Parade and
the Tennis Tournament.
SCHEDULE
OF MORNING EVENTS
(Wristband not required for these events.)

5K/10K Run and Kids Run
5K/10K: 7:15 a.m.
Kids Run: Approx. 8:15 a.m.
Calling all runners! Compete with your neighbors and friends in the
annual 4th of July race. Once again, this year’s courses will
start by the North Lake Gazebo on Barranca Parkway. The Association
is working with the Irvine Police Department on rerouting the 10K
race. The course is officially certified by TAC. No individual times
will be kept—runners are responsible for their own times.
Check-in time for the 5K and 10K runs is 6:30 a.m. The race will begin
at 7:15 a.m. The Kids Run will be at approximately 8:15 a.m.
The entry fee
for all pre-registered participants in the 5K/10K is $16.00 per
person, which includes an official race T-shirt or $6.00 without
the shirt. All 5K/10K participants who register after Saturday,
July 2nd must register the day of the race and pay a $5.00 late
fee.
The entry fee for the Kids Run is $10.00 per child which includes
a T-shirt, or $2.00 per child without the shirt. Awards will be
presented to first place finishers in each age division for both
men and women, and to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place overall in the
kids
1-mile run for boys and girls.
Entry forms
can be picked up at the Association Office through Saturday, July
2nd at 5:00 p.m. Entries after July 2nd must be done at the race
site on the day of the event. There will be a $5.00 late fee for
anyone registering after July 2nd.
Wheels
on Parade
10:00 a.m
Once again, we will be holding the annual parade on Barranca Parkway
between Lake and Creek Road. We hope to have more participants this
year than ever to help celebrate the 4th of July. We want this year’s
Wheels on Parade to be one you will not forget.
This year’s parade will start and end on Barranca and Lake
Street. The parade will go down Barranca as usual, and will make
the turnaround at Creek and Barranca and march back down on the
lake side of Barranca, thus enabling people watching the parade
a better chance to see all of the creative floats.
The Association will be judging the floats and awarding prizes to
1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners. Non-motorized floats have been
a big part of the Parade and are welcome to participate in the event.
This year we are adding a new category-”Best Decorated Dog.”
Bring families, neighbors, and your entire block together to create
floats with a 4th of July theme. There are no size restrictions
on the floats this year, but floats must be able to get under the
bridge on Barranca Parkway. Entries must be at the Parade assembly
area between 9:15 and 9:30 a.m. in order to be judged. Assembly
will be at Barranca and Lake streets on the south side of the street.

AFTERNOON AND EVENING EVENTS
AT THE SOUTH LAKE BEACH CLUB

Carnival
12:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Come on out to the South Lake Beach Club parking lot to enjoy an
old-fashioned carnival with a Moon Bounce, an obstacle course, a
giant slide, and lots of fun and exciting carnival games. Tickets
are required for all rides and games. Tickets cost 25 cents each,
or five for $1.00. *Please note some of the carnival rides will
close at 3:00 p.m., and some of the rides may cost more than 1 ticket.

Volleyball
2:30 p.m. Sign-ups
Matches begin at approximately 3:00 p.m.
We will have coed teams with a limited number of members playing
at the South Lake Beach Club. Each team must have a minimum of two
women players. Entries will only be accepted at the Beach Club volleyball
courts on July 4th at 2:30 p.m. Play will begin immediately after
with teams doing their own officiating. Get your neighbors together
and show off that winning style! An award will be given to the first
place team.
Remember, this is a fun, family event.
Beach
Chair BINGO!
12:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Play BINGO from your beach chair! Yes, this year BINGO can be played
right from your beach chair. Imagine this scenario: You are lounging
at the beach club, enjoying the activities, listening to your favorite
tunes, and munching on your favorite snacks. . . Suddenly the number
you needed to win is called by the host. . . you are the winner!
The first game will start at approximately noon with games continuing
throughout the day. Two games will be played every hour for a total
of eight games. There will be a cash prize awarded to one winner
per game (if there are two or more winners, they will roll the dice
and whoever has the highest number wins). Don’t miss out!
Come and play BINGO with us!
